Shipment Details
It's time for the Fall Order again. Nuts, Snacks, spices, herbs and candy of all types are available to add variety and tastiness to your food stores. The order will be open from 14 October to 26 October. Please deliver all payments (checks made out to Provident People) to Tresje Wallin (8037 Fort Smith Rd Peyton, CO 80831, 719-494-1623) by the 26th. Pickup will be November 12 2011 at the Shelstad's home.

The 2011 Walton Order is open! It will be open from April 1 to April 17. Do not wait until the last day, though, as our truck has been known to fill in 48 hours.
Don't forget that May 28 is the delivery day at Latigo, and we need your help to make the day successful. Volunteers will be needed in the morning to unload the truck, in the early afternoon to prepare orders, and in the later afternoon to load them into members' vehicles. Everyone who orders is required to volunteer.

Due to an email glitch, several people did not receive the announcement for the Fall Order. We
apologize sincerely for this!
In an effort to help members be able to order at least their nuts and dried fruits (including
unpasteurized organic almonds), I am hosting a Secondary Nutty Guys Order . This is for all members,
but especially for those people who missed the first announcement.
This will be coordinated completely separate from the original order under the heading:
Secondary Nutty Guys Order
through the ProvidentPeople.net website.
After logging in, you should see a link on the home page in the left menu bar that says " Secondary Nutty Guys Order". Under that you will select the link for "Place/Update Order". That will bring you to the order categories.
You update after each category and then just finalize your order when your order is complete.

IMPORTANT! Due to the holiday season, we have to work with a VERY TIGHT ordering window and
anyone wishing to order will need to act fast.
The secondary order OPENS today, November 20, 2010 and will CLOSE
on WEDNESDAY, November 24th.
That gives everyone 5 days to get your order in, and we do apologize for the short notice/tight window,
but it is the only option available to us in our desire to accommodate those that missed out on the
original order. We hope this effort is valuable to you!
Once you have finalized your order, please mail your check immediately to Treesje Wallin (Address
information will be displayed once you finalize your order).
We will post pick up information as we receive delivery confirmation from Nutty Guys, but we hope to
have items ready for pick up sometime during the week of December 12th. Should be just in time for
holiday baking and entertaining!
SPECIAL NOTE on the unpasteurized organic almonds: we have had numerous requests for these and
Nutty Guys has informed me that they do have a small availability of these ready to ship. If you would
like to order unpasteurized organic almonds, be aware that there is a regulation in place (through the
FDA) that limits the purchase of unpasteurized almonds to 100 pounds per person.

Scrumptious, high quality specialty foods at bulk prices will be available during the upcoming Fall order. We will be uploading the product list next week onto ProvidentPeople.net to enable you to place your order. Four distributors have been selected that provide a good selection. Ordering will begin next week (2010-9-11) and will close October 1. The Delivery will be in November. All checks are due by October 4 to Treesje Wallin so we can pay the 4 distributors on time. Pickup day will be in November. And as usual, we are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization run by members. Get involved today to help make a difference!

Provident People Fall Specialty Food Order Preliminary Information
Scrumptious, high quality specialty foods at bulk prices will be available during the upcoming Fall order. We will be uploading the product list next week onto ProvidentPeople.net to enable you to place your order. Four distributors have been selected that provide a good selection.
Ordering will begin next week (9-2-09) and will close September 19. All Checks are due to the Phyllis Pollard by September 24 so we can pay the 4 distributors on time. Please check (daily) the Providentpeople.net website, your email if you have signed up to receive the Newsletter, and/or the Yahoo Group for additional details. Pickup day will be in the 3rd or 4th Saturday in October.

There were a number of folks last year who would have liked to use credit cards for their order. We converted to checks only to save hundreds of dollars sustaining cost for a credit card system, plus the 2%-3% it costs on everything you buy anywhere you use a credit card. Our mission is to supply to the community the highest quality bulk foods at the lowest possible prices. And as usual, we are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization run by members. Volunteers: It takes many people to make it smooth and easy to pick up your order. We had an awesome team this year, thank you all. There were no major problems, and only a few minor glitches. So many great helpers and returning experienced people made it a great delivery day. Many good comments were heard for the team that worked to put it all together.

Revised Schedule: Order Pickup - 3:45-5:30 All volunteer schedules have been bumped one hour as well. The 7:30 a.m. crew should arrive at 8:30 a.m., etc. We need help! This new schedule may prevent some members from serving on their volunteer shifts. If you can come early or stay later, please do so. We are sorry for the inconvenience this caused everyone.
Order pick-up instructions:
Pass Halleluiah Trail and enter the center at the second, less defined entrance off of Latigo Blvd. Watch for PPN signs. It is important to follow the directions provided by the PPN traffic management team to ensure that we do not interfere with other activities at the center. At the time of your greeting, please provide the name(s) of the member order(s) you will pick up. As you enter the building, please follow all parking directions, pulling your vehicle out of the traffic lane. Please turn off your engine immediately. A traffic management member will guide you out of the pick-up area and away from the horse stables. Again, please follow their directions

From Woodman/Powers intersection:
Go east on Woodman for 7 miles, turning left (north) on Meridian. Travel 5.1 miles and turn right onto Latigo Blvd. Go 1.2 miles to the center, which will be on your left. Please use the second, or furthest entrance. Watch for PPN signs.
From Denver:
South on I-25, exiting at #163, County Line Road. Turn left onto County Line Road. Travel 5.2 miles. Turn right onto CO-83. Travel 4.2 miles. Turn left onto Hodgen Road. After 8.5 miles, turn right onto Meridian Road. After 3.9 miles turn left onto Latigo Blvd. Go 1.2 miles to the center, which will be on your left. Do not turn left onto Halleluiah Trail: please use the second, or furthest entrance. Watch for PPN signs.
From Pueblo:
Travel north on I-25 to Exit #135, Academy Blvd/Co-83. Merge with traffic and travel north about 4 miles. Turn right onto east Fountain Blvd/US-24. After 1.6 miles, turn left onto Powers Blvd. Travel 2 miles to the Platte Ave/Hwy 24 exit. Exit right and travel 10.2 miles on US 24 and then turn left onto East Woodman Road. Only .4 miles later turn right onto Meridian Road. Travel 5.1 miles and turn right onto Latigo Blvd. Go 1.2 miles to the center, which will be on your left. Do not turn onto Halleluiah Trail; please use the second, or furthest entrance. Watch for PPN signs.
Alternate routes from Denver and Pueblo:
If you prefer to remain on the interstate rather than make multiple road changes, take exit #149, Woodman Road off of I-25. Turn east onto Woodman Road. After 11.1 miles of eastward travel on Woodman, turn left (north) onto Meridian Road. Travel 5.1 miles and turn right onto Latigo Blvd. Go 1.2 miles to the center, which will be on your left. Please use the second, or furthest entrance. Watch for PPN signs.
Parking Instructions for volunteers:
The center contains multiple-use areas and private horse stable. In order to reduce traffic congestion or parking issues, please look for PPN parking signs. We will designate a parking area for PPN volunteers to the west of the building. This parking will be easier to find if you enter the center from the second, less defined entrance. We will have a PPN sign at that turn.

It's time for our fall order, and we have the best product selection ever this year!
Schmidt Apiaries - This is our provider for great local honey that is raw unfiltered and from alfalfa and wildflowers. Shipping - free.
Nutty Guys - Wonderful nuts, dried fruits, snack mixes, candy, and granola all at unbeatable prices. Shipping - .25 per pound.
Bob's Red Mill - A variety of beans, grains, whole grain cereals, gluten free products, etc. Packaged in small quantities that are great for experimenting with new foods. This vendor requires we buy in case packs. Fortunately, the cases usually hold four packages. However, there may need to be some adjustments when the order closes to fill the cases. Shipping - .50 per pound.
Glory Bee Foods - Spices and candy-making supplies. We've also added a variety of sweeteners, many of which are organic. Interested in soap making? We've got coconut oil and palm oil! Shipping - .68 per pound.
Mountain Rose Herbs - New this year! We're offering organic spices, food grade organic coconut oil, and a few herbal teas. Shipping - .68 per pound.
We've worked hard to find the best deals on great products, and I'm pleased to say you'll find more organics this year as well.
The order closes on October 3rd. Orders and payments must be received by then. We are planning the delivery for early November, but one of our best vendors is always full of surprises. So we'll keep you posted. The delivery will be in Falcon, and details will be sent closer to delivery day.

Please mark your calendars for the pickup on the morning of November 10th. However, be aware that it is not uncommon for us to need to change the delivery date.
We need about 23 volunteers for this delivery. Please check our volunteer needs and sign up to help!

It's time to order Oregon berries! We are pleased to offer this very high quality frozen fruit from Bithell Farms.
Ordering is open to all PPN network members. We are happy to pass on to network members a $2.00 per item discount as compared to the retail cost on everything except the jam gift pack which is discounted $1.00.
The ordering and payment deadline is September 20th. Delivery is expected sometime during October, and info will be emailed to you as soon as we receive it. We usually get our delivery notice 4-5 days in advance. Our deliveries will be in Briargate once again.
Notes:
IQF = individually quick frozen. These fruits come in 14 lb boxes.
Freezer jam packs contain 12 - 16 oz tubs.
Purees are made by removing the seeds, leaving only the pulp and juice. They come in a 14 lb bucket.
By placing an order, you agree to take responsibility for meeting the delivery truck during the pick-up time or making other arrangements for your order to be picked up. Right now we do not know the day or time the delivery will arrive. As updated information becomes available, we will pass that information along to assist you in your planning.

Shipment Details
You may now order Oregon berries from Bithell Farms. Those who have purchased their products in the past know that this is very high quality fruit delivered in a freezer truck. Loaded with natural vitamins, enzymes, and fiber that are not destroyed by the process of cooking, these fruit products provide an important part of your daily diet.
Ordering is open to all PPN network members. We are very happy to pass on to network members a $2.00 per item discount as compared to the retail cost on everything except the jam gift pack which is discounted $1.00. This discount is already reflected in our prices. The ordering and payment deadline is February 20th.
Delivery is expected sometime between March 15th and 31st, and we typically get our delivery time with just a few days of notice. Most local schools will have spring break during this time. Before ordering, please make sure you will be able to pick up your order as we will not be able to store items for people. Our delivery will be in Briargate once again.
